Here is how the USOC describes Olympic Day:
Commemorating the birth of the modern Olympic Games, Olympic Day is not only a celebration, but an international effort to promote fitness and well-being in addition to the Olympic ideals of Fair Play, Perseverance, Respect and Sportsmanship.
Here at the CESSCE along with the designated Olympic Training Site, and the entire graduate student body and faculty from the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences, celebrate by getting kids excited about sports!
Each year, since our inaugural Olympic day, we have taken huge groups of kids and introduced them to new sports, brushed up their skills with old sports, and gotten them excited about being active, teamwork, and competing. It is an awesome chance for us to get ourselves out in the community, and to show how much fun being an athlete is!
This year the Center's Olympic Day 2017 is scheduled for Friday, June 23, 2017! Please join us and follow #OlympicDay2017 for updates around the world!
Many thanks so Johnson City for partnering with us to put on a great event this year!
