Olympic Day
Commemorating the birth of the modern Olympic Games, Olympic Day is not only a celebration, but an international effort to promote fitness and well-being in addition to the Olympic ideals of Fair Play, Perseverance, Respect and Sportsmanship. The Center along with our training site, and the entire graduate student body and faculty from the Department of Sport, Exercise, Recreation and Kinesiology, we celebrate by getting kids excited about sports! Each year, since our inaugural Olympic day in 2012, we have taken huge groups of kids and introduced them to new sports, brushed up their skills with old sports, and gotten them excited about being active, teamwork, and competing. It is an awesome chance for us to engage our community and show how much fun being an athlete is! This year the Center's Olympic Day 2019 is scheduled for Friday, June 28! Please join us and follow #OlympicDay2019 for updates around the world! Many thanks to Johnson City and the Up & At 'Em committee for partnering with us to put on a great event every year! |
