Bobsled/ Skeleton Combine Event

Date: March 21, 2015

Host:
Center of Excellence for Sport Science and Coach Education (CESSCE)
East Tennessee State University
Johnson City, TN 37604

Venue Address:
Mountain States Health Alliance Athletics Center (mini-dome)
Corner of John Robert Bell Drive and State of Franklin Road
Johnson City, TN 37604
423-439-4655

For all athletes

Testing will begin at 10:00 AM at the indoor track facility within the mini-dome for all the running events, broad jump and shot toss. If you are staying off campus or driving in for the day please make sure you arrive between 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM to sign paper work and to give yourself time to warm up.

Equipment
  • Athletes must wear running spikes for all sprint events. You may wear sprint spikes or running shoes for the broad jump and shot toss.
  • Bring your own towel for drying off hands. This is especially important if it is raining for the outdoor events.
  • Drinks and snacks will NOT be provided.

Schedule
  • Check-in at the CESSCE when you arrive. Signage will be placed outside of the mini-dome pointing you toward the meeting location.
  • A quick meeting and demonstration will be held at 10:00 AM the morning of the combine test.
  • Meeting location will be on the mini-dome/ track floor. Once the meeting is over and questions answered all athletes can begin their warm ups.
  • Combine begins at 11:00 AM
  • Athletes are permitted to leave once all of the testing events have been completed, combine points have been tallied and verified by the coaches.
  • All results from each of the combines will be posted on the USBSF website.

Warm Up
  • You will be given approximately 45 minutes to warm up.

Hotel Accommodations

For athletes attending the combine from out of town, we recommend the Carnegie Hotel, as we have blocked off 15 rooms for attendees. This is an excellent hotel, and is right across the street from the Mini-Dome, where we will host the combine. It requires only a few-minutes walk from your hotel room to the Mini-Dome. To reserve a room, please call 866-757-8277, and mention that you are attending the USA Bobsled & Skeleton Combine to get the discounted rate.

For other questions on the Combine, please contact:

Dr. Brad DeWeese at deweese@etsu.edu and/or Coach Mike Dionne at madionne1@gmail.com.
