ETSU Center for Sport Science and Coach Education Welcomes Burke Mountain Ski Academy

The Center of Excellence staff Dr Stone, Dr Ramsey and Meg Stone Director had the opportunity to consult with the Alpine Coach Darrell Gray and the athletic trainer  for Alpine sport, in order to discuss the implementation of the endurance and resistance training programs. Burke Mountain Ski Academy are one of several Ski Academies nation wide. Their academic curriculum works around the student interest in competitive skiing. Our discussion centered on, testing the athletes, designing the training program for the athletes, and monitoring the training program. Through this collaboration Burke Mountain coaching staff indicated a  strong interest in internship opportunities for student athletic trainers and students interested in a coaching as a career.
